History: The first race
Some critics refused to acknowledge the first Fastnet race in 1925 as a true ocean race as racing did not cover long distances across an ocean or sea.
Disclaimer and Media Rights Waiver
As part of the formal entry/registration process, all skippers and crews will be required to sign and lodge with the RORC BY FRIDAY 27th JULY the following disclaimer and media, photographic / television rights statement.
Crew Lists with Next of Kin Details
It is the skippers responsibility to collate a crew list complete with names and addresses and next of kin details. A crew list complete with details of the whole crew shall be submitted to the RORC by FRIDAY 27th JULY 2007.
Boat Requirments
Monohulls - SSS MINIMUM: 34 or STIX MINIMUM: 32 and AVS MINIMUM 130-0.002 x m (where m is minimum sailing weight in Kg)
Training
It is the skipper's responsibility to ensure that the following criteria are met and that copies of Certificates or Letters of Attendance are submitted to RORC.
Qualification
The 2007 Rolex Fastnet Race will start on Sunday 12th August. To qualify for the race teams will have to satisfy experience and Training requirements.
