Rosebud Team DYT trimmer, Jonno Swain is a highly experienced yachtsman, originally from Durban South Africa, he has competed in the last two Volvo Ocean Races and inshore, has been on the TP 52 circuit for many years, winning with Mean Machine. "Cowes Week has been a light airs regatta, in those conditions anything can happen. This is the first time that Rosebud Team DYT has come to Cowes, it's great to win but our main reason to be here is the Rolex Fastnet," commented Swain. "Perhaps the Rolex Fastnet will be light airs, so it was nice to get a win against our competition in similar conditions. Jules Salter did an excellent job navigating in his home waters as did Californian, Jack Halterman on the helm, both of them will be on the boat for the race." Rosebud Team DYT are well aware that winning in the Solent may have little real baring on the outcome of the Rolex Fastnet but they have definitely picked up some bragging rights over their competition. Team DYT Rosebud's Rolex Fastnet Crew all from the USA (unless noted): Roger Sturgeon, Malcolm Park, Jules Salter (UK), Jonno Swain (RSA), Mike Joubert (RSA), Jim Slaughter, Dave Tank, Matt Smith, Keats Keeley, John Hayes, Michael Howard, Phil Trinter, Kevin Miller, Jack Halterman. |
